I skipped running depreciation in a previous period in Fixed Assets. How do I recover this?
If depreciation is not run for a past period and subsequent periods have had depreciation run for them, the depreciation process will not automatically pick up the missed period. When this occurs you must process depreciation with the Life to Date option checked. You can recapture the depreciation in two ways:
1. With the Life to Date option checked, run depreciation for the specific period missed and the resulting batches will post in that period
2. With the Life to Date option checked, run depreciation in the current period and the missed periods depreciation amount will be included in the current month’s depreciation. This will post both in the current period.
